Tragic incident: Toddler drowns in pool in Monroe County
A tragic incident occurred in Monroe County, Illinois as a one-year-old child, despite the swift response of first responders, tragically drowned in a swimming pool. The incident took place in the Country Lakes subdivision just outside Waterloo. Emergency services were alerted after the child was found unresponsive, and despite CPR efforts by officers and EMS, the child, who briefly showed signs of improvement, unfortunately passed away after being taken to a hospital in St. Louis. The Sheriff’s Investigation Division will be looking into the incident, believed to have been a devastating accident.
