Tragic incident: Teen passes away on celebratory post-graduation hike
An 18-year-old recent high school graduate tragically passed away while on a celebratory hike in Olympic National Park in Washington. The young man, Grant, was described by his father, Pastor Brad Herridge, as someone who loved hiking and had a zest for life. While attempting to cross a 50-foot waterfall at Sol Duc Falls on June 8, he unfortunately slipped and fell. Despite immediate search efforts by rescue teams, his body was found pinned between two of the falls the following day. Grant's school, Vanguard College Preparatory School, paid tribute to him on social media, recalling his positive impact on the school community and sharing some heartfelt words he had written in his senior essay.
