Tragic Granby Crash
A tragic incident occurred on the road in Newton County on Friday when a single-vehicle accident resulted in the loss of a life. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place just before 10:45 a.m. A 2018 Ford EcoSport traveling eastbound on US-60, about a mile west of Granby, went off the right side of the road and collided with a tree. The driver, a 48-year-old Granby man, sustained minor injuries, while a 57-year-old female passenger tragically lost her life in the crash as she was not wearing a seatbelt. This incident marks the fifth fatality for Troop D this year, and investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing.
