Tragic farming incident on Hawthorn Road
A tragic accident occurred this morning in Inwood where a woman from Mishawaka lost her life while working on a farm. The Marshall County Coroner was informed about the incident on Hawthorn Road in Marshall County. Emergency responders from Plymouth and Bremen Fire Departments rushed to the scene following a 911 call reporting a female trapped in a grain bin just before 10:00 a.m. The investigation by the Marshall County Coroner's Office revealed that Marilyn K. Miller, 58 years old, was inside the grain bin trying to dislodge stuck grain when she was pulled in further as the grain started moving downward towards the auger. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of her death.
