Chandler Jones, a former football star and all-time leader in career touchdown catches at San Jose State University, tragically passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles on Sunday. The 33-year-old, who had also played for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League, was involved in a fatal freeway crash around 2 a.m. Reports indicate that he succumbed to blunt traumatic injuries at the scene of the accident. Jones, who hailed from LA and attended Bishop Montgomery in Torrance, graduated in 2009 and went on to set records at both his high school and San Jose State. Throughout his career, he played for various NFL teams before joining the Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. Additionally, he served as a coach for several institutions. The Alouettes expressed their condolences and support for Jones' family during this difficult time.
