Tragic Death of Brentwood Teen in Old Hickory Boulevard Motorcycle Accident
A tragic incident occurred on Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old Brentwood teen named Cheathan Babu. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Babu was riding an electric motorcycle at a high speed on the sidewalk when he lost control and struck a fire hydrant. An eyewitness reported Babu was traveling between 40 to 50 miles per hour at the time of the accident. Authorities identified reckless driving and inexperience as likely factors contributing to the crash. Sadly, this fatality followed another recent incident on the same road that claimed the life of James Sellars. Local leaders are now advocating for improved traffic safety measures along Old Hickory Boulevard to prevent further tragedies. Metro Councilmember Jeff Eslick has advocated for increased enforcement of speeding laws, particularly in that area.
