Tragic crash on I-77 claims lives of 2 teens, leaves 1 injured
Two 18-year-olds lost their lives and a 17-year-old was injured in a car crash early Sunday morning on I-77, as reported by the Cleveland Police Department. The accident occurred around 1:17 a.m. in the area of I-77 North and I-90 East, involving a single vehicle in which three passengers were ejected. Police investigations indicated that the vehicle was speeding northbound on I-77, attempting to pass other vehicles on the right. Near the curve leading to I-90 East, the vehicle went off the left side of the road, rolling down an embankment after hitting a grass median. This resulted in the ejection of the occupants. Unfortunately, an 18-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, and another 18-year-old passed away later at a nearby hospital. A 17-year-old boy was also taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
