Tragic crash on I-65 in Boone County leaves Illinois teen dead, sister injured
A tragic interstate crash in Boone County took the life of Jordan Laskowski, an Illinois teenager returning from a spring break trip. The incident occurred on April 4 on northbound I-65 near mile marker 135 in Lebanon. Jordan's 12-year-old sister was also thrown from the vehicle during the crash, as reported on a GoFundMe page. The accident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m., resulting in the closure of all northbound and southbound lanes. Southbound lanes were reopened by 6:40 p.m., with northbound lanes following suit at 7:15 p.m. Jordan, who hailed from St. Charles, Illinois, had a profound love for the Dallas Cowboys, a passion he shared with his father. His father mourned his son's untimely death, expressing deep sorrow for losing his cherished companion and longing for the chance to say goodbye. Jordan, who was eagerly looking forward to playing high school football in the upcoming season, was fondly remembered by his father as an exceptional young man whose potential was abruptly cut short. Jordan also played for the STC Blue-Pony baseball team. As the family grapples with grief, Jordan's 12-year-old sister faces a challenging recovery journey ahead. Thankfully, his grandmother, mother, and youngest sister were unharmed in the crash. The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
