Tragic crash claims lives of Nebraska deputy's wife and son
A tragic incident occurred in Haigler, Nebraska, where the spouse and young child of a local sheriff's deputy lost their lives in a collision with a train on a private drive. The 44-year-old woman and her 7-year-old son sustained critical injuries and unfortunately passed away at Dundy County Hospital after the accident. The investigation showed that they were struck by the train while crossing the railroad, which lacked flashing lights and was only marked by a sign. The deceased were related to a deputy from a neighboring county, who had already experienced loss in February when their 17-year-old son died in a car accident on Highway 34.
