Tragic crash claims lives of 2 teenagers in Meade County
Tragic news from South Dakota as two teenagers from Rapid City lost their lives in a car accident near Rapid City. The incident took place on Thursday night just before 9:30 p.m. in Meade County. According to a statement from the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the single-car crash occurred on North Haines Avenue near Peterson Road. The vehicle veered off the road, overturned, and rolled into a ditch. Both the driver, a 16-year-old girl, and the passenger, a 15-year-old boy, were thrown from the car and sadly passed away at the scene. The young driver was not wearing a seatbelt, and it is uncertain if the passenger had one on. The authorities are withholding their names until their families have been notified.
