Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, designers of Barbie dolls and Madonna doll creators, were tragically killed in a car accident in Italy over the weekend. According to Italian news sources, including ANSA, the incident occurred when a driver entered the road in the wrong direction near the border of Piedmont and Lombardy. The accident resulted in the death of four individuals, with one person sustaining serious injuries and being airlifted to Niguarda Hospital in Milan. Mattel, the company behind Barbie, expressed their grief over the loss of Paglino and Grossi, who were renowned for their artistic contributions to Barbie as Magia2000. Mattel honored them for their talent and passion and their impact on the Barbie collector community. Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi founded Magia 2000 in 1999 and collaborated with Mattel on creating various Barbie collections, including celebrity dolls like Cher and Lady Gaga. They were famously known for their Madonna-inspired doll, which garnered recognition after being featured in the "Simply Madonna" exhibit in 2009.
