
Tragic cable car crash claims seven monks in Sri Lanka
According to News.Az, police reported that on Wednesday night, a group of victims, including 13 monks from India, Russia, and Romania, were being transported in a small makeshift cabin to meditation units atop a mountain in the extensive Na Uyana forest monastery. Four individuals are currently in critical condition, while two managed to escape with minor injuries. Early indications point to the cable breaking, causing the rail car to accelerate downhill, derail, and collide with a tree. The tragic incident occurred at the monastery, situated about 130 kilometers northeast of Colombo.
