
Tragic ATV Crash in Alexandria Results in Death of 6-Year-Old
A tragic incident in Alexandria resulted in the death of a 6-year-old child and the hospitalization of three others after a collision between a four-wheeler carrying young passengers and a vehicle. The accident took place at the Culpepper Road and North Boulevard intersection around 6:36 p.m. on June 18. The four-wheeler, driven by a 12-year-old with passengers aged 10, 6, and 4, failed to obey a stop sign before being hit by a car. As a result, the 6-year-old child passed away from injuries sustained, while the 4-year-old suffered minor injuries, and the 10- and 12-year-olds are in critical condition. None of the children were wearing helmets during the incident. The Alexandria Police Department expressed deep sorrow over the incident and emphasized the risks of using all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) on public roads. Police Chief Chad Gremillion commended the emergency responders for their efforts and urged everyone to avoid endangering lives by operating ATVs on city streets.
