Tragic accident on I-88 claims the life of a woman from Rochelle
A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning when a woman from Rochelle lost her life in a car crash on Interstate 88 in Winnebago County, Illinois. The Winnebago County Coroner has identified the victim as 27-year-old Aracelil Zepeda. Reports indicate that Zepeda was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound on I-88 when it collided with another vehicle, ultimately leading to a loss of control and a crash into a treeline. Zepeda was discovered unconscious at the scene and was airlifted to a hospital in Rockford, where she was later pronounced deceased at 7:59 p.m. Although the autopsy results are pending, it was reported by Illinois State Police that multiple individuals sustained injuries in the accident.
