Tragic accident claims the life of 27-year-old Hunter Myers
Driver Hunter Myers, aged 27, passed away at a Pittsburgh hospital due to injuries sustained in a multiple-horse incident that occurred during the 11th race on Wednesday afternoon at The Meadows. Myers was riding Always B Royalty in the race and was ejected from the bike when the leading horse, Uptown Callie, caused a chain reaction accident that involved a total of five horses. Other drivers, including Jeremy Indof, Case Bateson, Aaron Merriman, and Brady Brown, and their horses were also affected but were reported to have minor injuries. The remaining races at The Meadows that day were canceled, and Myers was airlifted to the hospital after the accident. Chloe Fisher, Myers' fiancée, shared the devastating news on Facebook the next morning, expressing her deep love for him. Myers, hailing from Ohio and part of a horse-focused family, started his racing career in 2014 and achieved significant success, winning numerous races and earning over $21.7 million with horses he guided. The racing community at The Meadows and MGM Northfield Park mourns the loss of Myers, who was described as a rising star in the industry. All racing activities at The Meadows have been suspended for the remainder of the week, with condolences and prayers being offered to Myers' family and friends by various racing organizations and associations.
