Tragic accident claims lives of siblings on 60 Freeway in Southern California

A mother from Southern California is devastated after losing her two adult children in a tragic car accident on the 60 Freeway in Chino. The siblings, Joseph Perez, 21, and Jacquelyn Perez, 23, were returning home after visiting their mother in Riverside late at night on April 7 when the accident occurred. While Jacquelyn was driving, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the center divider before the car ended up in an embankment off the freeway. Tragically, Jacquelyn died instantly, while Joseph was thrown from the car. Joseph's pregnant girlfriend, who was also in the vehicle along with their 8-month-old daughter Nicole, was critically injured but survived. Despite the heartbreaking loss, family and friends remember the siblings fondly for the joy they brought into the lives of those around them. Jacquelyn was known for her radiant smile, while Joseph was affectionately called "Jojo." The siblings had plans and dreams for the future, with Jacquelyn aspiring to become a teacher, and Joseph looking forward to the arrival of his second child. Their mother, Karen Perez, is struggling to come to terms with the tragedy and is advocating for safe driving practices among motorists. A memorial has been set up outside her home in Riverside to pay tribute to her children's lives. The family is currently raising funds for the siblings' funerals through a GoFundMe page. Jacquelyn and Joseph are survived by their young children, two other siblings, as well as friends and extended family members.
