Tragic accident claims life of Great Falls boy in Judith Basin County.

Tragic news struck the community of Great Falls as an eight-year-old boy lost his life in a four-wheeler accident in Judith Basin County on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Emergency services responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:45 p.m., reporting the crash near Hughesville. Despite wearing a helmet, the young driver suffered severe injuries after being thrown from the vehicle. The incident occurred just half a mile from Dry Fork Belt Creek Road on Butcher Knife Divide within Judith Basin County. Efforts to provide medical assistance extended into Cascade County, where the child was unfortunately pronounced deceased around 7:51 p.m. Sheriff Jesse Slaughter and detectives arrived on the scene to support and document the tragic event. An autopsy request has been made due to the victim's age and the nature of the accident. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the grieving family during this difficult time. Various agencies including Judith Basin County Sheriff's Office, Cascade County Sheriff’s Office, Monarch Fire/EMS, and Belt Ambulance responded to the incident, with acknowledgments of appreciation to dispatchers and all involved agencies.
