Tragic accident claims life of 9-year-old on US-301
A tragic incident unfolded on US-301 in Tampa as announced by the Florida Highway Patrol. A 9-year-old girl tragically lost her life in a collision that occurred Saturday night. A Chevrolet Trax, operated by a 32-year-old woman from Riverview, was heading southbound on US-301 when it made a left turn into the oncoming path of a Ford Fusion. The collision, which occurred around 11 p.m., involved the Ford Fusion being driven by a 27-year-old man from Tampa traveling northbound on US-301. The 32-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, while the driver of the Ford Fusion was unharmed. The young girl from Riverview who was a passenger in the Chevrolet Trax suffered serious injuries and, despite being transported to a nearby hospital, sadly succumbed to her injuries.
