Tragic accident claims father of 7 at Berkeley school site.

A tragic incident occurred last week at a school modernization project in Berkeley where a 41-year-old subcontractor, Jonathan Dillard Guidi, lost his life in a devastating scaffolding accident. Guidi, a father of seven from Sacramento, fell around 40 feet from the scaffolding, as reported by authorities such as Alameda County Sheriff's Technician Brandi Foscalina and Berkeley Fire Department spokesperson Dafina Dailey. The accident took place at Sylvia Mendez Elementary School and despite the swift response of emergency services, Guidi was critically injured and later passed away in the hospital. Fortunately, no students or staff were present at the site during this tragic event. The Berkeley Unified School District shared their condolences and support for Guidi's family and colleagues during this difficult time. While investigations are ongoing by various agencies including the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, the Berkeley Police Department, and the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, Guidi's family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for funeral expenses and immediate living costs, with donations pouring in to honor the memory of a man described as the heart and soul of every room he entered.
