Tragic accident: 2 brothers and puppy killed in car crash from I-95 onto Philadelphia street: authorities

Two individuals lost their lives in a tragic incident that occurred in Philadelphia on Friday night when a car veered off the highway and crashed onto the street below. Authorities report that the accident involved a total of four individuals who were traveling in a Mazda that careened off I-95 and came to a stop near Castor Avenue and Richmond Street around 8 p.m. The Pennsylvania State Police Troopers were called to the scene at mile marker 25.5 of I-95 North following the crash. According to investigations, the 2006 Mazda was heading northbound on I-95 when the driver lost control, leading to the vehicle colliding with the guide rail, flipping multiple times, and ultimately falling off the roadway onto Castor Avenue beneath the I-95 overpass. The Mazda was occupied by four brothers from New Jersey at the time of the accident. Tragically, the two passengers in the back seat, aged 18 and 22, were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle, resulting in their deaths at the scene. The driver and front-seat passenger, aged 18 and 23, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Additionally, a puppy that was also in the back of the Mazda was ejected and did not survive. Fortunately, no bystanders were harmed in the crash. Witnesses informed law enforcement that the Mazda had been racing a Dodge Challenger on I-95 before the fatal crash occurred.
