Motorists are urged to find a different route as crews work to remove a crashed 18-wheeler on I-45 near Madisonville. The crash involved an 18-wheeler carrying steel beams that rolled and spilled its load while traveling southbound on I-45 close to FM 2989. Due to the incident, traffic slowed on the opposite side of the highway, resulting in two additional 18-wheelers crashing in their attempt to avoid the congestion. One of the trucks collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the initial 18-wheeler sustained head and arm injuries and was transported to the hospital, while the pickup truck driver was airlifted. The roadway remains closed in both directions as cleanup efforts are underway, but no estimated duration has been provided.
