Traffic restricted following collision on I-40 in Albuquerque

Law enforcement is currently attending to a serious vehicle collision that has resulted in a fatality and shut down Interstate 40 eastbound in Albuquerque. The incident occurred near the Carnuel exit, close to mile marker 169, prompting the closure of all lanes as emergency crews work at the scene. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office has reported injuries and a subsequent fatality as a result of the crash. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes as traffic is being diverted. In addition, BCSO is also dealing with another fatal crash on southbound Interstate 25, causing a closure expected to linger for several hours.
