Traffic jam on I-40 in Midwest City due to 3 vehicles stuck between barriers
Traffic on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 was halted for about an hour on Wednesday following a collision involving three vehicles that became stuck between concrete barriers. The incident occurred in a construction zone near Anderson Road. Sky 5, the lone news helicopter operating during weekday mornings, captured footage of the three vehicles stuck between the barriers, obstructing the two-lane highway. Several tow trucks were called to the scene, requiring them to back up for approximately half a mile along the highway. One vehicle was towed away while the other two managed to drive off after being dislodged. Another unrelated vehicle had to be towed from I-40. The resulting traffic jam extended two to three miles back to Doulgas Boulevard but has since been cleared.
