Traffic jam caused by multiple car collision on various freeways in San Gabriel Valley
During the Thursday morning rush hour, a collision involving a large truck and multiple vehicles resulted in the closure of several lanes on the 605 Freeway, causing traffic disruptions on the nearby 60 and 10 freeways. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway near Valley Boulevard in the Avocado Heights area. One of the vehicles, a van, was propelled over an embankment as a result of the crash, prompting a Sigalert that shut down three lanes, leaving only the carpool lane open for commuters. Congestion quickly formed on the 605 Freeway, affecting traffic on the 10 Freeway to the north and the 60 Freeway to the south. At 7:30 a.m., Sky5 captured footage of a tow truck attempting to reach the van. The Sigalert was anticipated to last until nearly 9 a.m., but traffic delays were expected to persist for a longer duration. Drivers were advised to consider alternative routes. The presence of injuries from the accident was uncertain.
