Traffic disrupted on I-96 in Livingston and Oakland counties due to fatal crash

Michigan State Police are currently investigating a fatal traffic incident on Interstate 96 in Livingston County. The crash occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on the westbound side of I-96 near Kensington Road / Exit 151 in Brighton Township. State troopers from the Brighton post are on the scene and have confirmed a fatality. Police have advised motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes. Westbound lanes of I-96 are closed starting at Milford Road in Oakland County, as per Michigan Department of Transportation traffic reports. A detour has been set up, directing drivers to take a route via Milford Road southbound (Exit 155B), Grand River westbound, Kensington Road northbound, and back to westbound I-96.
