Traffic delays on Stevenson Expressway due to multiple-vehicle collision at Halsted Street
A major crash on the outbound Stevenson Expressway near downtown Chicago caused significant traffic delays on Thursday afternoon. At 5 p.m., only one lane was open on the outbound Stevenson at Halsted Street following a collision involving about six vehicles. Emergency responders from the Chicago Fire Department and Illinois State Police were at the scene to assist. Chicago police were also present, conducting searches in the roadside green areas for any objects thrown during the incident.
