Traffic Delay on SB 405 caused by Car Hauler Crash in Brentwood

A serious accident involving a vehicle transporter and a big rig has resulted in lane closures on the southbound 405 Freeway in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles during the Wednesday morning commute. The collision occurred around 2:15 a.m. near West Sunset Boulevard, as reported by the California Highway Patrol incident log. Video footage shows that the big rig rear-ended the car hauler, causing a section of the hauler's ramp to penetrate the back of the truck's cab. While authorities have not officially confirmed any injuries from the incident, freelance media company KNN has stated that two individuals were severely injured. Emergency crews are on-site, and all southbound lanes are temporarily shut down. As of 5 a.m., the two left lanes and the Getty Center Drive ramp to the southbound 405 remain closed, causing significant traffic delays through the Sepulveda Pass. It is anticipated that the closure will persist until around 7:20 a.m. The cause of the collision is currently being investigated. This incident on Wednesday is the second major accident along this part of the freeway in slightly over a week. Last week, on June 23, Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Shiou Deng lost his life on the 405 near Getty Center Drive when he was struck by a vehicle while providing assistance at a traffic incident.
