Traffic alert: DuSable Lake Shore Drive reopened after police investigation of fatal car-pedestrian collision
DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago was closed for several hours on Monday morning due to a fatal accident involving a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. The incident, which occurred at 5 a.m., resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man who was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while standing in the median of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old man, stayed at the scene and did not sustain any injuries. Despite the significant traffic delays caused by the crash and police investigation, all northbound lanes on DuSable LSD have now been reopened as of 9:15 a.m. on Monday.
