Tractor-trailer plunges into canal following collision in Metairie
The East Bank Consolidated Fire Department is currently responding to a collision between two cars and an 18-wheeler. Officials from Jefferson Parish fire department have reported that the trailer of the 18-wheeler overturned into the canal at the intersection of West Esplanade Avenue and North Labarre. As a result, that section of West Esplanade is temporarily shut down while authorities manage the removal of the trailer from the canal. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the closed area.
