Toddler dies when vehicle smashes into suburban Chicago eatery
A tragic incident occurred in Illinois when a vehicle crashed into a restaurant, resulting in the death of a 2-year-old boy and injuries to multiple individuals. The incident took place at a Portillo’s location in Oswego, a village near Chicago. The driver, a 50-year-old woman who was alone in the vehicle, collided with the front entrance of the restaurant. The police chief mentioned that the investigation is still in its early stages but initial observations suggest that this was an accident. Among the 14 people injured, eight were taken to nearby hospitals, including the driver. Unfortunately, three individuals sustained serious injuries. The young child who lost his life was inside the restaurant at the time of the crash. The authorities expressed their deepest sympathies to the family during this tragic moment. It is too early to determine if any charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
