
Three people taken to hospital after early-morning collision propels car into city eatery
Three individuals were transported to UC Medical Center in the early hours of Sunday after their car collided with the front of a downtown Cincinnati sushi restaurant, as reported by Cincinnati police. The incident took place just before 4 a.m. at the intersection of W Sixth and Race streets. Witnesses recounted that the two vehicles involved were racing down the street, culminating in one vehicle losing control and crashing into the other. Subsequently, a Toyota SUV from the initial crash collided with Baru, a sushi and cocktail bar. According to CPD officers present, one individual required extrication, another was aided by bystanders, and a third managed to exit the vehicle independently. All three individuals in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries. This accident marks the second time since 2024 that a car has crashed into the same restaurant. Following the crash, the city's building department was notified, and both vehicles were removed by tow trucks around 5 a.m.
