Three fatalities in Ludlow Township crash

Three individuals tragically lost their lives in a two-vehicle collision in Ludlow Township on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred when a pickup truck and a passenger car collided at the intersection of County Road 1550 E and County Road 3500 N. The driver of the pickup truck, a 62-year-old man from Paxton, and the driver of the car, a 56-year-old woman from Paxton, were declared deceased at the scene. Additionally, a 30-year-old woman from Ludlow who was a passenger in the car also passed away after being transported to a local hospital. The Champaign County Sheriff's Office accident reconstruction deputies are currently investigating the crash. Names of those involved are being withheld until their next of kin are notified. Meanwhile, a separate crash "involving injury" in northern Champaign County is being attended to by sheriff's deputies. Sheriff Dustin Heuerman has not provided further details on this second crash but has announced that the affected road will be closed for several hours.
