Three-car collision shuts down eastbound I-94 at 10 Mile in St. Clair Shores

Eastbound I-94 has been shut down at 10 Mile due to a three-vehicle collision on Thursday. The driver believed to have caused the accident is being looked into for driving under the influence. Police discovered whippets, marijuana, and open alcohol containers in her car. Authorities mentioned that the driver was speeding and attempted to maneuver between two other vehicles on the freeway prior to colliding with a semi-truck and another car around 11:50 a.m., as stated by Michigan State Police. The semi-truck spilled a considerable amount of oil on the road, leading to additional time needed for clean-up. The driver and a passenger from the vehicle at fault were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. Fortunately, no other individuals involved in the crash were harmed. Due to the extensive oil spill, the closure of the freeway was necessary. Michigan State Police are in the process of obtaining a search warrant for a blood test from the suspected driver. The investigation and clean-up operations are anticipated to keep I-94 closed for several hours. Please remain updated with FOX 2 for the latest details on this incident.
