
Third teen dies days after collision on Garvin County road, according to OHP
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reported that a 17-year-old boy passed away several days following a collision in Garvin County, marking the third fatality from the tragic accident. The crash, which occurred near U.S. Highway 177, involved a 2024 Nissan Altima and a 2021 Nissan Titan. According to an official collision report, the Altima driver failed to obey a stop sign and was struck by the Titan. The incident claimed the lives of two teenagers, identified as 14-year-old Malakye Miles and 15-year-old Brook Lynn Faith Dooley. Lt. Mark Southall of the OHP expressed deep sorrow over the situation, emphasizing that the loss of life could have been prevented with different choices. The driver and a passenger, both 17 years old, were taken to a hospital, with the passenger succumbing to injuries later. The area where the crash took place is noted for its frequent accidents, with a local resident urging for improved safety measures to be implemented.
