The 'Sleeping Prince' of Saudi Arabia, Al Waleed bin Khaled, passes away after two decades in a coma.
Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, also known as the "Sleeping Prince," has passed away at the age of 36, nearly two decades after entering a coma due to a car accident in London in 2005. He was the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud and the nephew of billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal. Despite efforts by medical professionals from the US and Spain, he never fully regained consciousness after the tragic accident. His father, Prince Khaled, held on to hope and refused to withdraw life support during this time. The prince was affectionately referred to as the "Sleeping Prince," with occasional videos showing small movements. His passing was confirmed by Prince Khaled, who expressed deep sorrow and faith in Allah's will. The Global Imams Council also offered condolences. Funeral prayers will be held in Riyadh on Sunday, July 20.
