TGSO: ‘Major accident’ on FM 2288

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — First responders were dispatched to a section of FM 2288 near Bison Trail in the afternoon hours of May 22 after a collision occurred between two vehicles in the area. According to a Nixle alert issued by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office at approximately 12:58 p.m., motorists were advised to avoid the area of FM 2288 near Bison Trail due to a "major accident." The agency advised that both lanes of traffic would be closed. A Concho Valley Homepage reporter at the scene observed two vehicles, a Cadillac and a Jeep, with visible damage to their fronts. The reporter noted that the Cadillac appeared to have sustained substantial damage to its front. It appeared as though the Jeep had lost both of its passenger-side tires. TGSO stated in a separate Nixle alert issued at approximately 2:19 p.m. that the roadway is now open for traffic to safely drive on.
