Tesla driver in fatal St. Paul crash cited memory loss in charges
A young man from Fridley, Minnesota is facing criminal charges after he was allegedly involved in a fatal crash while driving a Tesla at high speeds in St. Paul. According to court documents, the 22-year-old driver claimed to have no recollection of the collision that resulted in the death of 31-year-old Benjamin Villano. An investigation found that the Tesla was speeding at nearly 30 mph over the limit and reached speeds exceeding 100 mph. Both the driver and a passenger in the car were injured and claimed to have no memory of the crash when questioned by authorities. The driver now faces a charge of criminal vehicular homicide and could receive a maximum prison sentence of 10 years if found guilty.
