Terre Haute woman dies in Tuesday's fatal crash
Karen P. Penick has tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a car accident that occurred on 1st and Locust in Terre Haute this week. The crash, which happened on Tuesday, July 22, involved a single vehicle veering off the road and colliding with a utility pole near the intersection. Two individuals were trapped inside the vehicle, and the Terre Haute Fire Department was called in to assist with freeing them. The driver, 63-year-old Jack D. Hutchinson, was transported to a local hospital and later to a facility in Indianapolis for further care. Initial investigations revealed that Hutchinson was a habitual traffic offender. Penick, who was 68 and from Terre Haute, is survived by her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
