Teen's Death Mourned by Woodstock High School
The Woodstock High School community is saddened by the passing of one of their students, Jackson Cole Croft, a rising senior, whose body was found in Lake Allatoona last week. The 17-year-old was discovered after his boat was seen drifting near the Little River area of the lake. After an extensive search, officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources located Croft's body in 22 feet of water near where his boat was found circling. There is ongoing investigation into the circumstances of his disappearance and death, as he was not wearing a life jacket when he was found. Croft was known in the local racing community and had recently started a career at Dixie Speedway, following his father's path. Woodstock High School officials expressed their condolences, remembering Croft as an outdoor enthusiast who made a positive impact on those around him. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced by the family, and a tribute event will be hosted in Croft's honor by RockN'5L Rodeo Company's Jr. Pro Division on June 21, where attendees are asked to wear his favorite color, camo green.
