Teenager identified as victim in head-on collision in Platte County; 2 others in serious condition
The Platte County Sheriff's Office has identified the teenager who tragically passed away in a nearly head-on collision on July 3. The incident occurred on Missouri Route 45 just north of Kisker Road, and deputies responded to the scene around 4 p.m. Following a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that a 2018 Kia Rio traveling northbound collided almost head-on with a southbound 2024 BMW 230i. The driver of the Kia Rio, identified as 18-year-old Emmelie Rodriguez, was unfortunately killed in the crash. The two occupants of the BMW, a 79-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries described as non-life-threatening. The circumstances surrounding the accident are currently being investigated.
