Teenager dies, another arrested for drunk driving after crash in Marblehead, Mass.
A tragic incident occurred early Tuesday morning on the North Shore, resulting in the death of a 13-year-old girl in a crash and the arrest of a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of driving under the influence. The fatal crash happened around 2:51 a.m. at 352 Atlantic Avenue in Marblehead. Both the Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker and Marblehead Police Chief Dennis King confirmed this information in a statement. Emergency responders discovered a severely damaged vehicle at the scene, where the young girl was declared deceased. The teenage driver was treated for injuries and then taken to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence. The authorities have not released further details about the young individuals involved due to their age. Investigations into the crash are ongoing. The incident took place in a residential neighborhood close to the shoreline, resulting in damage to a stone wall.
