Teenage girl killed in three-car accident on Jefferson Ave. in Newport News

A tragic incident occurred in Newport News, Virginia, as reported by the local police. On June 17, authorities responded to a collision at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and St. Thomas Drive involving three vehicles. The crash involved a Chevrolet Equinox, an Acura RDX SUV, and a Honda Civic. The initial investigation revealed that the Equinox, driven by a 17-year-old male, was speeding and changing lanes recklessly before colliding with the Acura. The impact caused the Acura to hit the nearby Honda. Sadly, a 17-year-old female passenger in the Equinox sustained critical injuries and passed away on June 25th at the hospital. Thankfully, no other major injuries were reported. The driver of the Equinox has been charged with driving under the influence, with potential additional charges pending.
