Teenage girl killed in off-road crash near West Mountain; 5 others injured.
A 14-year-old passenger who was airlifted from a side-by-side accident at West Mountain and was in critical condition has unfortunately passed away, as per a post shared on social media by Utah DNR Division of Law Enforcement. The Utah Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the individual. The incident is still being investigated. Six juveniles were injured, with one being airlifted in critical condition, in a side-by-side crash near West Mountain on Friday evening. The driver, a 14-year-old boy, was taken to a Utah County hospital before being sent to a Salt Lake County hospital with possible significant injuries. Two female passengers were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other two passengers, one male and one female, stayed on the scene with minor injuries. All six people involved in the crash are residents of Utah County. The DNR expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by LifeFlight, Payson and Santaquin Fire & EMS teams, and Utah County Sheriff's Office, and Santaquin Police Department. The incident is under investigation, and the DNR shared off-highway safety tips while stating that no additional information is available at present.
