Teenage Columbus resident killed in collision with semi-truck

A tragic incident occurred in Stillwater County, as a 15-year-old boy from Columbus lost his life in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 10 near Park City over the weekend. The Montana Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place just before 11:00 p.m. The teenager was driving a Ford F-150 in the westbound lane when he encountered a stopped vehicle. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the truck, he swerved but ended up clipping it before crashing head-on into a Kenworth semi-truck. The impact caused his vehicle to catch on fire, and the young driver unfortunately passed away at the scene. Although the other two drivers involved, including a 69-year-old man from Fishtail, were unharmed, alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash, with the specific driver affected not disclosed by MHP.
