Teen on ATV fatally injured in Fresno County crash
A 15-year-old boy sadly passed away after being involved in an ATV crash along the San Joaquin riverbed near Highway 180 and San Mateo Avenue in Fresno, California. The California Highway Patrol received a delayed report of the incident on July 6, around 6:30 p.m. Two teenagers were riding the ATV when the driver lost control, causing both to be ejected into the shallow river. The passenger, who was not wearing a helmet, was trapped under the overturned ATV, but was initially alert. He was taken to a resident in Mendota at the request of his aunt before later being airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he passed away due to internal injuries. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries, and the family is cooperating with the investigation.
