Teen killed, one injured in ATV crash in Wayne County
A tragic incident occurred in Wayne County involving two 13-year-olds and an ATV in the Little Satilla Wildlife Management Area. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call on April 8 reporting the accident, which prompted a response from various authorities, including the Jesup Police Department and emergency medical services. One of the teens was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital by EMS but unfortunately passed away, while the other was transported by family members and is now recuperating from non-life-threatening injuries. The Georgia State Patrol informed WSAV News 3 that the fatal accident involved the ATV rolling over, ejecting the teen, and then running over them. The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is looking into the details of the incident.
