Teen killed in accident on North Peyton Highway, three others hurt
Colorado State Patrol (CSP) troopers were called to a tragic accident on Saturday morning at about 11:00 a.m. on North Peyton Highway, just north of Pinon Road. The troopers discovered that a Nissan Pathfinder was heading north on the highway when it failed to negotiate a left turn, causing the vehicle to veer off the right side of the road and overturn. The 16-year-old driver was thrown from the car and sadly did not survive. He was airlifted to the hospital where his death was confirmed. Additionally, two 16-year-old girls and another 16-year-old boy were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Given that the individuals involved are minors, their names will not be disclosed. The CSP Vehicular Crimes Unit is currently investigating the incident and urges anyone with relevant information to reach out to dispatch at (719)544-2424, providing details for an investigator to contact them. The case number to reference is VC250232.
