Teen killed and 2 injured in fatal Apex crash, according to police

Over the weekend, a tragic car accident in Apex, N.C., resulted in the loss of a teenager's life and severe injuries to two others, as reported by the Apex Police Department. The incident occurred on Highway 64 near Knollwood Drive around 10:30 p.m., involving a single white Chevrolet Malibu that veered off the road, struck a drainage ditch, and rolled multiple times. Authorities disclosed that the vehicle had a 17-year-old driver and two 16-year-old passengers at the time of the crash. Regrettably, one of the 16-year-old passengers sitting in the back seat was partially thrown from the car and succumbed to their injuries. The driver and the other passenger were transported to a local hospital for medical care. The driver, who was found to be driving without a valid license, faces misdemeanor charges of death by motor vehicle. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
