
Teen in Florida dies, driver found hiding in chicken coop after high-speed crash on I-75 per FHP
A tragic incident unfolded on I-75 as a car carrying teenage passengers crashed and burst into flames, resulting in the death of a young individual from Citrus County. The 17-year-old driver, who was allegedly speeding and driving recklessly, fled the scene after the accident. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred near Oxford in Sumter County on Monday afternoon. The driver lost control of the Dodge Charger, causing it to hit a tree and ignite. Despite the severe situation, all passengers, aged between 13 and 17, were transported to the hospital. Sadly, a 16-year-old from Inverness succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was eventually apprehended by troopers and Sumter County deputies, who found him hiding in a nearby chicken coop. The 17-year-old is now facing serious charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
