Teen girl's death in US-131 wrong-way crash raises death count to 4

A tragic incident occurred in Martin Township, Michigan, where a 17-year-old high school student lost her life in a devastating wrong-way crash on US-131 over the weekend. This marks the fourth fatality in this terrible accident. Lt. Brandon Berens from the Allegan County Sheriff's Office confirmed the teenager's passing on Tuesday morning. She was a student at Community High School in Portage Public Schools. The young girl was a passenger in a car that was traveling in the correct direction, according to Berens. The collision took place on northbound US-131 in Allegan County in the early hours of Sunday morning. The driver responsible for the wrong-way crash tragically lost her life after colliding with another vehicle while driving in the opposite direction. Several other individuals involved in the accident were also critically injured and hospitalized. Authorities suspect that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, as investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.
